¶Pablo Grant is honored to be part of a working group focused on how we solve problems, how we understand the world around us, and how we give more damn than anyone else in the room.
What working together requires.
This is not a process diagram. It is a statement of standards. Most engagements that go well share a small number of habits on both sides.
We’re not for everyone. If we’re for you, you already know it.
-
01
Truth is required.
Not as a slogan. As a working condition.
-
02
“I don’t know” is a strength.
It is the fastest way to a useful next sentence.
-
03
Complaints come with proposals.
Diagnosis without direction is theater. We try not to import it and we try not to produce it.
-
04
Common ground is assumed, then tested.
Most disagreements are about definitions. Most definitions are worth examining.
-
05
Time is respected.
Meetings are a format, not an achievement.
-
06
Standards and kindness are not opposites.
The highest standards tend to be the kindest ones held honestly.
-
07
Opponents are persuaded, not demonized.
People you cannot persuade are people you do not yet understand.
-
08
Trustworthy and reliable are not the same.
We try to be both. We know the difference.
If these read as obvious, the relief may be the point. These are the conditions under which the work gets to be good.
